Mercer University

Macon, GA 2015-2019

Achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Information Science & Technology minoring in Computer Science and Business Administration.

Before college, I was already fixing and building computers on my own time and had a basic understanding of network design and security, but it takes more than that to make it in this field. I saw the value in a formal college education, so I took the plunge. I have never regretted it—I would not be the person I am today without the academic and life skills I picked up along my journey there.

My studies laid the foundation for my career in technology by teaching me what it means to think and solve problems logically, to research effectively, to tailor complex ideas to a variety of audiences, and to be both a team player and a leader. I studied networks, operating systems, coding languages, cybersecurity, machine learning, as well as the fundamentals of business, economics, and entreperneurship... and yet this doesn't even scratch the surface of everything that Mercer taught me.

One thing I did not expect to learn, however, is how I can be a better member of my society. Around the campus, there are many signs that read, "Mercer students major in changing the world". I can attest to that. My college experience challenged me to explore my wildest dreams, find my place in this world, and leave the Earth better than I found it. I will always remember it as one of the most formative eras of my lifetime.
